Library, Nixon Administration

This photograph of the White House Library was taken in August 1973 during the Richard M. Nixon administration. The Library is located on the Ground Floor of the White House. Although libraries have been a mainstay the White House since Millard Fillmores administration, it wasnt until 1935 that President Franklin Roosevelt formally designated this room for the library. The Library boasts thousands of books and the room occasionally serves as the backdrop for meetings, interviews, or televised speeches.
